Ana Vidigal

ANA VIDIGAL (Lisbon, 1960) lives and works in Lisbon.
Ana Vidigal’s work resorts to painting, collage, assemblage and installation as
processes of decontextualization and reconfiguration of images from different sources,
in order to explore the social and political values those objects convey, often in regard
to the representation of women and their social roles.
Having graduated in Painting at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts in 1984, Ana Vidigal
was granted a scholarship from Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian from 1985 to 1987.
